Disaster Around the World

My thought on all the different weather that's been happening around the world in 2011. I think it's warning us for something, something so big that's no one will ever forget. I also hear a lot of people think that the crazy weather lately is all building up for 'Doomsday 2012'. Personally I don't believe that but others might so that's their belief. I don't think it's going to be as big as what happened to Japan with the earthquake and then a tsunami but when all that crazy weather comes here to Oregon I think it would probably form a tornado and take out some of Oregon. That's only if anything happens again like Missouri or Japan or anything for that matter.

The difference between my generation now and my parents generation then is we have color television, cable, music electronics, etc. I think the biggest thing is how we treat our parents now. In this generation we can get away with a lot of things, back talking, leaving whenever we want, not listening, things in that category. Back then you couldn't do anything at all without asking your parents or you'd get in trouble. Such as if you don't ask to leave you would get in serious trouble when you would get back home and nowadays you really don't.

When I was a freshmen I bought myself Speed Stacks. Speed Stacks are 20 plastic cups with three holes in the bottom of the cup and you would stack them into a pyramid how many times you could with only 20 cups. I started to play with them everyday and I would time myself in the mat it came with, at the time I had so much fun. After playing it everyday I started to get really bored with it, so I stopped playing it for awhile and I was going to start playing with them again but I just forgot about them and haven't played since then.

When Hannah Escaped

        In today's news Hannah Tupper escaped from the angry mob that was out to get her. Why were they out to get her? She cursed everyone with her witch powers, got them all sick, a few died and a few alive, but only for now.

       Everyone wanted her gone, and they sure got her gone. She didn't belong here in Weathersfield, thought everyone in town, she is a Quaker and Quakers don't belong here. The town people ask why did she move here, of all places why Weathersfield? But no one ever knew why Hannah moved here, but the only person who does is Kit Tyler, the girl who moved from Barbados to live with her Uncle Mattew, one of the Selectmen.

      Some say Kit Tyler goes to Hannah's house everyday, but for what? To visit her? Do witch craft together? No one knows and no one will ever know because now Hannah is gone and Kit will not tell us, so that question remains unknown.

• When Kit met Hannah Tupper.
• Everyone thought Hannah was a witch because she was a Quaker. (different)
• Kit was very scared at first because she didn't know to believe if she is a witch or not.
• Hannah turned out to be a lovely and lonely old lady who likes cat's.
• Kit can open up and talk about her feelings to Hannah.
• Kit kept going back to Hannah's house even though her uncle told her not to.

Newspaper Article

I think my final project is going to write a newspaper article on an important event in the story. I'm also thinking about writing about 'back of the book' review.

Life in Danger

If a friend of mine was in danger, hanging off a cliff or something bad I would definitely help them as much as I can, even though it's putting my life in danger. If a complete stranger needed help and if it put my life in danger I am not so sure because I don't even know the person. I mean I would help as much as I can but if the guy is going to die and you already know that then, no, I don't think I would help the person.

I think some people in our community are treated different by how they may dress. For example, people here in Salem dress pretty much around the same and when you see someone from a different country come here and they wear neck to feet dresses all year long, people may think to themselves, let's treat them different because they don't look like us or dress like us.

Compare and Contrast

John Holbrook and William Ashby are both caring and respectful people. John Holbrook, is a shy guy who doesn't really talk for himself much. He is studying with a doctor in medicine and religion. He also wants to marry Mercy but end's up being with Judith because he couldn't stand up for himself and say he wants to be with Mercy. Now William Ashby on the other hand, he is going to marry Kit but he is going to wait for when she is ready to get married. He also has lots of money so he could provide for her when she is ready to take the next step.

Combining Sentences

Hannah Tupper lived by herself in the meadows but people didn't like her. Everyone thought she was a witch because she was a Quaker. Kit, Nat, and Prudence went to visit Hannah anyway and they all thought Hannah was very nice.

Little White Lies

I think it wouldn't be a problem if people told little white lies. Only if their talking about something that's not  important and you wouldn't remember it anyways. For example if I was talking to someone about a dream I had and I couldn't remember all the details so I could possibly tell some little white lies to make the story better or it could just end up worse with the little lies.

Kit went back to Hannah Tupper's house because she wanted Hannah to know that what she said to Kit worked and now she has her job back at the school and she probably wanted to thank Hannah. Also it could be because Kit feels more welcome at Hannah's house and not at her uncle Mattew's house. She can talk about whatever at Hannah's house but not at uncle Mattew's because no one really likes her besides aunt Rachael.

Alone Time

My favorite place to be when I'm alone is Denny's Park.  It's a park down the street from me. Nobody really goes there except on really nice sunny days but that's not till summer usually. There are these really big tall trees, a lot of them and there are two benches in the middle of all the trees and I love to just sit in the middle and look up or or all around, it doesn't really matter. It takes the anger or the sadness or whatever feeling I am in, it just takes it away and I sit there and like to relax. I guess it's soothing for me.

After School

My plans for after school is either find a job if I don't have one or get one, a part time one. I would like to keep busy after school is over, not just sit around like I did last summer and pretty much wasted my summer. I did want to start a class or two in college but I don't have my diploma yet, so I can't. I will get my diploma though. How? I'm going to try and finally get in some Bridge classes, start working on that. I'm not sure what else I can do to try and get my diploma besides just getting  in those Bridge classes but once I start those then I guess I will go from there and get my diploma next year. One thing I know for sure is I am going camping with my family and boyfriend. We go every year to Detroit, usually stay for four nights, five days, and  I guess it's a family tradition for us. The number one top thing I want for summer is to get my driver's licence, instead of this permit.

My biggest pet peeve is when parents put their kids on leashes even the leashes that have a monkey or some type of animal. I don't understand why they do it, if you can't handle you'r children then maybe you shouldn't have a kid but that's what I think. I can see that kids can be over the top sometimes or a little crazy but not enough for them to be put on a leash like a dog. I get if your in Disneyland or the state fair or somewhere that's really busy like those places but not just walking down the street, when you could be holding there hand or pushing them in a stroller.

I think Kit should keep her job because she was acting out the bible. She should fight for it, for the children, because the children didn't want to listen or behave and when Kit gives the idea to act-play it out the children wanted to listen and wanted to behave because they weren't just sitting their. Now they listen and their acting it out and being part of it.

Easy-Bake Oven

I remember when I was seven and for Christmas I got this really cool Easy-Bake oven but it wasn't as cool as I thought it would turn out to be. When I got the present I didn't play with it for a few days after Christmas then I finally opened it. I was so happy! I started to put all the piece's together and I started to bake one cookie, when the cookie was done I pulled it out and took a bite out of it and trust me it wasn't the best cookie. It tasted like tar! So in the long run I never tried to bake another cookie out of the Easy-Bake and I wish I didn't have it because it made me so mad because I was expecting a good tasting chocolate chip cookie and instead I got chocolate chip tar.

Spring Break

My spring break wasn't as good as I planned it out to be. I missed two days before spring break started because I had to go to the hospital for my thigh/knee and that hurt through the whole spring break so that wasn't fun at all. Also last Tuesday my wisdom tooth started to come in and that still hurts to this day but I did get it pulled out Thursday; thee worst pain ever! So that's pretty much my spring break.

Who Is Uncle Matthew?

   Uncle Matthew seems like a guy who doesn't like to give respect, you have to earn it and show you can do things. He doesn't really seem the type of guy who likes to get new things or even gifts from people. For example paragraph three on page 43, ''No one in my family has any use for such frippery." "Nor are we beholden on anyone's charity for our clothing."

I have had a boyfriend sense the eighth grade.  I like to spend as much time with my family because my family is known for deaths in our family from cancer and diabeties. What I like to do on my spare time is spend time with my family, friends, listening to music, and most of all sing.
